Garage Door Opener Repair for Center Line homes and businesses
Opener faults split into three groups: the safety sensors, the drive mechanism, and the logic board. Sensors and gear kits are inexpensive and worth repairing. A burnt board on a twenty-year-old chain drive usually is not, and we will say so rather than sell you a repair that costs more than a new unit.
We work on everything from twenty-year-old single-skin builder doors to new insulated steel and carriage-house units across Center Line. That range matters, because it means we can tell you honestly when a repair is the sensible option and when you are better off putting the money toward a door that won't need us again next winter.
Call (888) 904-6236 any hour, or see everything we cover on our Center Line garage door page.

Nadia F.Opener repair questions, answered
My opener hums but the door doesn't move. What's wrong?
If the door lifts easily by hand after pulling the release cord, the problem is inside the opener, usually a stripped plastic drive gear. That is an inexpensive, very common repair. If the door is heavy to lift by hand, the opener is fine and you have a broken spring, in which case running the opener again risks damaging it.
Is it worth repairing an old garage door opener?
It depends on the part and the age. Sensors, gear kits, remotes and limit switches are cheap and worth fixing at almost any age. A failed logic board on a unit over fifteen years old usually is not, because the replacement board costs a large fraction of a new, quieter, safer opener. We give you both numbers.
Why do my garage door remotes keep losing their programming?
Intermittent loss is usually a weak logic board or a failing antenna wire rather than the remotes. If only one remote misbehaves, start with the battery. If all of them drop out together, and especially if the range has been shrinking, the receiver in the opener head is the likely culprit.
My garage door closes then immediately opens again. Why?
That is the safety reversal doing its job. Either the photo-eye sensors are misaligned or obstructed, or the close-force setting on the opener is too sensitive, or something in the track is physically stopping the door. Check the sensors first: both lights should be steady, not blinking. If they look fine, it is usually a force adjustment.
Can you replace a broken garage door spring the same day in Center Line?
Usually yes. Standard torsion springs for residential doors ride on the van, so most Center Line spring calls are completed on the first visit. Oversized, high-cycle or unusual commercial springs may need ordering, in which case we secure the door safely and return as soon as the part lands.
What brands of garage door opener do you work on?
All the common ones: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Sommer, Overhead Door, Marantec and Wayne Dalton, plus commercial operators. If your unit predates 1993 it has no photo-eye safety sensors, and we will recommend replacement on safety grounds rather than repairing it.
Need it fixed today?
Tell us what the door is doing and we'll give you a price before anyone drives out. Same-day slots most days in Center Line, and someone answers the phone at 2am.
