Garage Door Opener Repair in Eastport, MI
Snapped spring, dead opener, door hanging off its track. We carry the common parts on the van, quote a flat price before we start, and most Eastport jobs are finished in one visit. Open 24 hours.
Garage Door Opener Repair for Eastport homes and businesses
Opener faults split into three groups: the safety sensors, the drive mechanism, and the logic board. Sensors and gear kits are inexpensive and worth repairing. A burnt board on a twenty-year-old chain drive usually is not, and we will say so rather than sell you a repair that costs more than a new unit.
Garage doors in Eastport take a beating from Michigan weather. Cold thickens the grease in roller bearings, road salt corrodes cables where they meet the drum, and freeze-thaw cycles bond the bottom seal to the slab so the opener strains every morning. Most of the calls we take between November and March come back to one of those three things.

Nadia F.Opener repair questions, answered
My opener hums but the door doesn't move. What's wrong?
If the door lifts easily by hand after pulling the release cord, the problem is inside the opener, usually a stripped plastic drive gear. That is an inexpensive, very common repair. If the door is heavy to lift by hand, the opener is fine and you have a broken spring, in which case running the opener again risks damaging it.
Is it worth repairing an old garage door opener?
It depends on the part and the age. Sensors, gear kits, remotes and limit switches are cheap and worth fixing at almost any age. A failed logic board on a unit over fifteen years old usually is not, because the replacement board costs a large fraction of a new, quieter, safer opener. We give you both numbers.
Why do my garage door remotes keep losing their programming?
Intermittent loss is usually a weak logic board or a failing antenna wire rather than the remotes. If only one remote misbehaves, start with the battery. If all of them drop out together, and especially if the range has been shrinking, the receiver in the opener head is the likely culprit.
Is a garage door spring something I can replace myself?
No, and this is the one job we ask people not to attempt. Torsion springs are wound under enough tension to break bones or worse if they release unexpectedly, and the winding bars are not interchangeable with screwdrivers or rebar. It is a genuinely dangerous repair and it is priced modestly for that reason.
My garage door won't open. What should I check before calling?
Pull the red release cord and try lifting the door by hand. If it is extremely heavy or won't budge, you have a broken spring and should stop there. If it lifts easily, the fault is in the opener: check the photo-eye sensors near the floor for a blinking light, obstruction or misalignment, and confirm the opener still has power. Tell us what you found and we can often diagnose it on the phone.
Do you charge extra for nights and weekends in Eastport?
We publish the after-hours rate when you book so there is no ambush on the invoice. Many straightforward evening calls in Eastport are charged at the standard rate. If a job can safely wait until morning at a lower price, we will tell you that instead of taking the premium.
Need it fixed today?
Tell us what the door is doing and we'll give you a price before anyone drives out. Same-day slots most days in Eastport, and someone answers the phone at 2am.
